I recently bought a digital clock online, in all likelihood produced in China. Aesthetically pleasing, it luminated brightly on its first night in my room. A little too bright I thought. Yet for only $20, it must be an artificial intelligence(AI) equipped, sensitive to my thoughts, and since then, it only lit up when I touch it.
And so I now revert back to my built in bodily alarm that faithfully rouse me from my sleep at close to 5am, for the clock remains dark, for it was not within easy reach from my bed.
Clock or no clock, one thing that has not changed for me these past few years. I do look forward to the precious two hours(from 5am to 7am) in communion with our Lord. A time in the stillness of early dawn, to come to Him with my supplications, and more importantly, to take time to be still and listen to His promptings.
On listening, Donald Trump is one guy who not just does not listen, but tweets from the finger, putting to rest, the old phrase, shooting from the hip.
And you shall be holy to Me, for I the Lord am holy…………..

Often in the midst of plenty or while wallowing in dearth, we are so enraptured by the plentiful present or encapsulated by the terrible torrent, that we forget that there is a Sovereign God, Who is with us.
And in the main, for almost all of us, if not all, we do live a life that needs the sanctification of the Holy Spirit to be made right with our Lord.
Insouciance, in our Singlish equivalent, ẗidak apa or bochap. In proper English, a state of indifference, a carefree attitude bothering on being blissfully unaware of our environment.
The devil loves this state of our heart and mind, as we slide towards eternal damnation, and none the wiser.
In a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life - in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labour for nothing..

Donald Trump is unlike old Emperor Nero who fiddled while Rome burned. Trump actively dismantled the global order as we know it, and created bonfires out of it. And joining him is boorish Boris the present Prime Minister of the Disunited Kingdom, who swept Parliament off her feet, with his recent antics.
The End of Times is intensifying, and will the last days be in our generation, if not the next?

5. the next big Middle East conflagration with Israel as the focal point is a question of when, as the actors including Turkey, take their places. There was a recent pic showing the new comrades in arms, Presidents Putin, Erdogan of Turkey and Hassan Rohani of Iran.
And with the Israelite political scene disjointed, with the successive inconclusive elections, the vultures are hovering.

Will the recent attack on Saudi oil fields be the trigger to a rerun of this Annus Horribilis period?

Did the recent haze cloud my sanity leading to such fertile postulations or is this increasing litany of ills that is well documented in the Bible truly coming home to roost?
It has been 4 months to the day since my mum left to be with our Lord. It has been the same period that I have refrained from sharing any new thoughts. Not because of grief, for sad as it is, there is yet joy and assurance that she is home with our Lord.
But rather, it was important to rest in our Lord, to be sure that the thoughts now shared are truly from Him, and not from me.
However, we speak….not the wisdom of this age…..But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory..

An afternote : My mum
As always, our good Lord woke me up at 5am this morning. And one of my recent prayers has included this note of gratitude to our Lord that we know our late mum is with Him. But this particular early dawn, after this first thankful prayer, I slumbered into dreamland. And what a wonderful dream it was. I saw my mum looking radiant probably the way she was in her early 60s in our living room. And I was overjoyed for has not she already passed on? She told me that she was brought back to life. And the word Resurrected was deeply impressed upon me.
And just then, a man in white named Dr Mak entered the room to visit my mum.
And sadly, I awoke.
The secular man will tell me that it is because I missed my mum. I do.
But my spirit man tells me that our good Lord is answering our prayers. That He assures us that mum is now with Him in eternity.
It took me one whole day before I shared it with my siblings. As I wanted to be sure that it is not my fertile imagination. Anyway, my sister googled and indeed found a Dr Mak, a cardiologist who shared his Christian faith

And was there ever a Dr Mak who ever attended to my mum or at least my dad?
I never heard of him, though my sister seems to recall there was.
I believe God uses the name of the Dr to affirm His reassurance
All glory to our loving Father in Heaven Who is always caring much as we often are careless in our walk with Him.
What is mankind that You are mindful of them, human beings that You care for them?
